Catrin Finch & Cimarrón on Thursday 23rd January 2020
Catrin Finch is a remarkable and fearless artist, one of the world's leading harp players, whose career has features both orchestral solos and collaborations with leading world music artists including Touani Diabate and Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita, with whom she forms 'one of the most popular world music acts of this decade' (Songlines).
The 6-piece Grammy-nominated Cimmarón performs joropo dance music from the cattle-rearing plains of the Orinoco rooted in a deep tradition defined by the mestizo mixed heritage of African, Spanish and indigenous cultures, and led by harpist and composer Carlos Rojas. Fast paced and powerful, Cimmarón's music bursts with impetuous singing, amazing stomp dancing and the fierce instrumental virtuosity of strings and percussion.
A rare chance to witness a thrilling global collaboration.
