Review of PLAYHOUSE PROJECT Festive Family Ball W/ Jon DaSilva (Hacienda)
So much fun! Like a festival but indoors. The kids loved it & so nice to hear some proper music. The Refuge is such a great venue, felt pretty special❤️.

Needed to be a bit more organised. Separate queue for non alcoholic drinks as just 1 huge queue for a soft drink for a child. Not much food stalls just one with cookies which didn’t really want to give my 2 year old.
Maybe a soft play area / mini bouncy castles wasn’t really much to do for kids other than fight over a few balloons. More safety in place for all the stairs. Loads of stairs children running up and down could see an accident waiting to happen. Thought there should of been more stuff on really for the children

The music wasn’t aimed at a Christmas party for small children. I’m all for a bit of rave/house music, but as this was a children’s event, they should’ve played music that children would know and understand or even remixed some classics or Christmas songs for them. My little girl was disappointed as she wanted to ‘do dancing in her party dress’ and the music just wasn’t music to the little children. They loved the lights and snow and balloons but there was nothing they could actually dance to. The playdough table was a good idea and they could’ve incorporated some more ‘free’ activies into the ticket price.. colouring, party games etc. I wasn’t expecting so many chargeable activities once I’d paid the entry price (face painting, food, chargeable crafts).. it was a lot for a single parent who’d saved up to buy these tickets. It was a good idea but I don’t think we’d go again.

Unfortunately not what I was expecting - bit village hall vibes rather than an afternoon of house. The DJ was excellent as were the dancers. Maybe smaller rooms with baby sensory / activities would've been better branching out from the main disco room? With slightly dimmer lighting? Lovely cake stall though! Very long queue to the bar we gave up in the end. Bloom sensory was excellent

It was good music & entertainment but if your bar queues are 20-30 minutes and you’re here only for 2hrs then it’s not a great experience/value for money. The venue was ok, buggy access should be considered when deciding on a venue. Overall very expensive for a 2hr event.

First time we've been to one of these events. I would totally recommend it. my boys are 7 & 4 and they loved it. loads of arts and crafts, face painting, balloons, Hoola hoops, soft play sensory for babies, cookie & cake stall and a bar. I'd probably advise noise protectors for babies or children sensitive to noise as the music is a little loud. but wasn't an issue for us.

queuing at the beginning was the only issue I experienced. my kid and others wanting to wander off (as they do) in such a big building was stressful. apart from this it was acw

Review of Jubilee Street Party
Enjoyed the event including the venue, food and music. However was disappointed in that there was only one band on throughout the whole event. Even though the band was very good the advert on website suggested there were other up and coming bands playing too and special guests. This did not materialise. I think the advert could be clearer to people purchasing tickets in future. Overall felt it was reasonable value for money.
