Winter Solstice Celebration on Saturday 21st December 2013
For one night only the Horse and Jockey are transforming Chorlton’s Green into a winter wonderland to celebrate the shortest day of the year; Winter Solstice.
The night will present unique Christmas music from local bands and choirs. Including the Chorlton Children’s Choir, whose repertoire includes everything from Elbow to Elgar and Britten to Britpop. Followed by Chorlton Choir (this time adults) singing yuletide classics and Bo Weavil who will polish off the festival with their Bluegrass style music.
All the entertainment will take place in a North Pole backdrop: complete with Father Christmas and his entourage of elves handing out presents in the grotto. Meanwhile people will feed Santa’s reindeer as well as play on the funfair rides. Grown up kids can drink mulled cider and wine and relax as they watch the choirs and bands.
