Defining Displacement in Tech – Co-creation on Thursday 25th October 2018
Displacement in tech is an ever-growing concern, but as an industry we are struggling to define what displacement it, and therefore determine where and how our organisation’s practises are having an impact on the people, communities and industries we serve. We’ll be bringing together tech pioneers and social change-makers together to co-create a
solid definition of displacement and shape a decision-making tool that enables tech creators to consider the positive and negative societal consequences of their outputs.
Our follow up “Defining Displacement in Tech” co-creation session will see us sharing ourcollaborative research and stakeholder interview outcomes, and bring together a working group of individuals and organisations keen to make progress and set a precedent for tech ethics across the industry.
Following a deep dive on the purpose, objectives and focus areas for The Federation, weconsulted with our progressive and ethically-driven members on their priorities and support needs for taking the next step in creating an ethical digital society. Over the coming months, The Federation will be consulting on how we drive action on codes of conduct, diversity and inclusion and community giving, bringing together
working groups of our membership, Friends of The Federation and some of the top industry experts in their areas.
Working in partnership with social impact consultancy Noisy Cricket, The Federation team will be facilitating a series of civic tech projects, with shared learning, co-creation of solutions and tangible outcomes central to The Federation’s vision to creating people-empowered tech.
