Variously described as – ‘an under sung national treasure’ [UNCUT] – ‘a warm hearted Morrissey’ [Q Magazine] and ‘the missing link between Jarvis Cocker and Roger McGough’ [Irish Times] past work associations include Bill Drummond[KLF], Luke Hainesand Jah Wobble[PIL] and his various bands have included ex members of The Smiths, OASIS, Aztec Camera & The Fall. He’s also written and recorded as ParlourFlames, the band he formed in 2013 with exOASIS rhythm guitarist Bonehead. 2019 has seen VP touring with The Wedding Present, Duke Special & Wreckless Eric. New album WHILE YOU STILL CAN is a politicised hard rock affair and comes out 28.10.19 with band tour dates in support…

Steve Roberts has been a musician for more years than he can remember… As the singer and songwriter with Liverpool’s 16 Tambourines he signed a major record deal and toured and recorded throughout Europe in the late 80s and early 90s grazing the lower reaches of the uk charts and securing a reputation as a songwriter of some renown. In the mid 90s he founded Acoustic Engine songwriting gig promotions before leaping back in to the musical swamp himself in the naughties with his debut solo album It Just Is. “A beautiful album, we fell in love with it” Janice Long. “The creepy folk pop noir of Love meets Crowded House” Uncut Magazine. Since then he’s recorded more solo albums, a band album with Captain Pop, a song based show about the Cold War, written for television and theatre and is currently writing songs for an arts council supported project about the life of books. 16 Tambourines are playing a sold out show in Liverpool in November.
