S-Plan: Les Trois Mancs on Thursday 31st July 2014

'Les Trois Mancs' is a showcase of emerging Mancunian talent. So,if your out looking for a local showcase of new bands to support, collaborate or work for then this could be for you. We believe these bands all have to potential to grow during this summer and over the 2014/15 divide, but ultimately that is up to you and the bands to decide. We just promote the stuff!

White Noise Box

Stockport four-piece alternative-indie-rock will be headlining the evening, peddling their new release 'I'm Not There'. As yet unsigned we are expecting a volume of material released off their own back in the next few months, although after a busy start to the festival season it is likely that they have already attracted support from within the industry. An emblematic 'From Manchester With Love' and the explosive and energetic 'Wasted Days' are favorites of ours. Overall a distinctive sound merged with indie influences such as 22-20's, The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys and hometown Madchester bands such as The Stone Roses, The Smiths and Oasis.

Our Number 1 homegrown Northern Quarter favourites. These guys are tight-as-fuck, yet trashy, thrashy and pretty noisy. A huge sound comes from the 3 piece bass, drums and lead, with loads of driven energy. Adam Walsh's vocals and the band's ability to churn out classics is structurally, lyrically and sonically impressive. Always a treat to see live, we have had to wait since the infamous Mr Peeps's 2013 Closing Xmas Party at Gulliver's, where there was glass, blood, bodies and cheep champagne all up the walls. Since then the guys have been doing serious studio time and promised swathes of new material alongside last year's festival favourites.

Avec le Monstre

Opening up our evening with their first live show as a unified outfit, this ambient electronic group have come to us from out of the blue. Formed early 2014 we have only 'Raj' to form our opinion, but to be honest the idyllic, rhythmic soundscape has got us really exited. With only a short set to test out some tracks from a forthcoming EP.
