Summer Love-In, an acid house blast
Summer Love-In, get in there fast
Tell me more? Tell me more?
At Club Solo HQ we’ve been cooking up a feast, so come and spend one of those barmy balmy evenings with us at The Carlton Club.
We have an indoor party of plenty with the music, the food of love, from the fabulous Peza, Alice Palace and Timothy Clerkin!
Previously Amsterdam based, a recent move to Manchester led to a meeting of minds and hearts and we are absolutely over the moon to be able to present Timothy Clerkin!
A producer, live act and DJ, Timothy Clerkin occupies a niche corner of electronic music, armed with his own brand of techno-infused indie-disco.
His sound draws on the 80s/90s UK rave scene, a healthy dose of IDM, bad political satire, a lingering, teenage love of heavy metal, all underpinned by vintage synthesisers.
Recent records, peppered with lo-fi rave, noise and ambient, are aimed squarely at the dance floor.
Heading up Ransom Note’s sub label Insult to Injury, Timothy has been putting out records selected by the likes of Slam, Optimo, Michael Mayer, HAAi, Erol Alkan, Lena Willikens and The Blessed Madonna.
Soon to return from Mexico (we’d love to claim we’re flying her in specially haha), Alice has been a DJ resident playing weekly on the beaches and clubs of Tulum, not that we’re jealous or anything. Gah!
She’ll be back in London for the Summer and Club Solo will be one of her first gigs back in the U.K., and we couldn’t not have her back after her triumph at our ALL IN gig last year.
Alice’s sets span the worlds of dark disco, cosmic americana and spacey pitched down techno with dirty baselines, vocals and the italo disco sounds of the 80s laced throughout.
After unfortunately being cut short into what was only an hour long set at Beats for Beds – Manchester, we just had to bring Peza back and give him the full treatment he and you deserve. He still holds the record for the most listened-to set in our SoloStream library.
He’s has been a part of the Nu-Disco and Re-edit scene for some time now, as well as having a very strong affinity with the darker more acidic end of the musical spectrum. Remixes and collaboration credits include artists such as Damon Albarn, Joe Goddard, Greg Wilson, Baba Ali, Dicky Trisco, Black Grape, Mike Smith (Gorillaz/Blur), amongst many others.
Often on his travels, he’s had regular appearances at Festival No6 and Alfresco, and played to European crowds in Berlin, Tirana and Vienna.
Peza is also an integral part of Greg Wilson's 'Credit To The Edit' collective and regularly DJ's alongside Greg, Derek Kaye and Henry Greenwood.
Expect to hear anything from classic edits, fresh nu-disco, house, electro, acid-house..as long as it has that certain something, and put your drinks somewhere out of the way!
