New Revolution Presents: Rock, Paper, ROCK! #16

Hatbox Field -
The Hiding Place -
Dead Circus -
Kiefer -
The Uncanny Valley -

Hatbox Field are a rare & important band in this day and age of music - when it's easier to press play on a hard disk recorder than to actually craft ones instrument to devastating standards. This three piece from Manchester do just that and they have a sound; and that sound is of crunching and gritty rock songs. The lead singer Tom has served for the British Army and the birth of Hatbox Field was largely out of his time away from friends and family so listen out for opening references. Rehearsals for this band started out in a disused barn and they soon realised that they were able to create a sound which separated them from others in a genre in which usually so few bands succeed. They are articulate and creative with harmonies, they use melodies stunningly well with riffs that wouldn't be out of place in an early Rage Against The Machine album. This band will be successful and not only have they won Manchester's "band of the month" award but are winning over the crowds of their cities world famous venues. Keep and eye and ear out for this lot.

The Hiding Place are a band that should be on more peoples radar. Sonic Shocks
Its all stirring stuff, and displays the bands willingness and ability to incorporate the type of unrefined passion rarely seen in this genre. DEAD PRESS!
"The Hiding Place are undoubtedly a great band, and if they can get their music heard, there's a chance they could go very far" - Hevy Petal
The Hiding Place's tracks hit you in the face with the right amount of force; slow intros followed by exciting verses and sing-a-long choruses. Stoke Sounds

We are one of the grimiest, dirtiest, despicable, sexually wonderful, mayhem-gasmic, penetrative, crunchiest, tastiest, magical, wet and fantastical bands in Manchester. We play loud, hard and seemingly spontaneously at times, producing the music we enjoy playing and hearing, screwing all principles of theory in each and every whole it wishes to offer. Each member of the circus brings that special secret splurge of mystical madness which makes 'Dead Circus' the deluded, castrated sound of madness and insanity that it is ... And sometimes we play a nice song too.

Starting midway through 2012, we came together to with one aim, to create simple songs based on hooks, bounce, big riffs and most importantly we enjoyed to play.
We play all original material with no cover fluff.
Taking influences from grunge, stoner rock, metal and punk bands, we mix this altogether to produce what has become Kiefer.
