A man is discovered in the street – a knife through his chest. Who is he? Why is he there? Simon Holt’s enigmatic ...era madrugada tells the story of a mysterious death described in a Lorca poem.

We continue our relationship with Sarah Kirkland Snider with a performance of her poignant Thread and Fray and we’re really excited to be working with Lucy Armstrong on a brand new work for the group. This will be our first commission honouring Psappha’s former Patron Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.

Two Van Gogh inspired works complete the programme; his exuberant letters are the stimulus for Julian Anderson’s Van Gogh Blue, while memories of Africa inspire Steve Martland’s Starry Night.
