Psymmetry Collective + Fuzz Thursdays Present The Schizophonics on Thursday 9th August 2018
Psymmetry Collective and Fuzz Thursday present The Schizophonics, Sky Valley Mistress and Rival Bones at Night People on the 9th of August 2018. Headlining the occasion are San Diego based garage rock three-piece the Schizophonics who have toured their native West Coast and Europe excessively these last few years.
The group released their debut extended play in 2017 entitled 'Ooga Booga' followed by their debut album 'The Land of the Living.' With their rapturous live shows the band have drawn comparisons to some high profile artists such as the MC5, Iggy Pop, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and The Oh Sees. They recently performed one of their high octane, thrilling sets on the prestigous Album De La Semaine on Canal +. Frontman Pat Beers is a fireball of uncontrolled energy. He electrifies the stage and often careers into the crowd like a musical shaman. It seems almost impossible that he can play such great guitar while flailing about like a man possessed (Gillespie, 2017). In our opinion the Schizophonics are the best live band in the world with fantastic songs to back it up.
Also bringing fuzzy tones and pedals to the event are Sky Valley Mistress. This Blackburn quartet have released a handfull of extended plays and singles over their carer which features the cleverly titled 'The Best Thing You've Never Heard.' The band have draw comparisons to Black Sabbath's doomy, minor heavy chords and distortion, the blues influence of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix are also prominent in the bands music but that certainly doesn't mean that their music isn't authentic and exciting. Sky Valley Mistress have toured relentlessly, which has included gigs with Stage Bones and False Heads. We certainly can't wait for them to tear up the stage at Night People.
Last but certainly not least are Liverpool based rock duo Rival Bones. If you like big heavy-riffs then this band is definitely one you need will need to see. Rival Bones songs have extremely strong melodies, powerful rhythms and loud aggressively guitars similarly to Royal Blood and Death from Above 1979. The band have an fantastic live show they have recently played at In Music festival in Croatia, the Isle of Wight festival and Liverpool Sound City Just to name a few. Rival Bones are the perfect opening act
