Beeswaxx Presents Flex The Foreigner/Evabee/Prima/TMNMS & More on Saturday 21st September 2019

September - a month of seasonal reflection, festival blues & empty wallets. Never fear Beeswaxx is here, back at it again with the bi-monthly’s at Night & Day café - with entry for less than a pint and a line-up fit to cure the cruellest of summer hangovers.

Our basement boogie at YES in June marked the launch of ‘Dark Matter Dojo’, our second release via the Beeswaxx imprint – the response and hype has kept us busy for the past few months but we’re ready to bring it back to our regular haunt with live PA’s and DJ sets from the very best Manchester has to offer – there’s not one artist worth sleeping on here, find out more about them below…

DATE: 21/9/19
VENUE/TIME: Night & Day Cafe|11pm-4am
ARTWORK: Will Da Costa

Make way for Room2 Records’ latest wonderkid – officially bursting onto the scene with stunning debut EP ‘Sorry I’m Late’ back in April, Flex The Foreigner has taken the Manchester scene by storm this year. Rapping is his game but by no means the full story – a different track means a different flow and a different production style courtesy of producer Kydro. Born and raised in Portugal – ‘the foreigner’ is definitely flexible, fusing his Iberian roots with the Manc swagger we all know and love to create an exciting edition to the rainy city’s old guard. Self-confessed by the man himself, Flex is sitting on a back catalogue that he intends to keep firing from, so don’t expect this guy to fade anytime soon. Not one to be missed on the night.

Synthesizing soul-kissed vocals with quick witted lyricism over multiple genres; Eva has well and truly found her own in 2019 and hasn’t stopped running with it. Her outputs vary from deep emotional themes to light-hearted depictions of her day-to-day, resulting in a noticeable inclusivity about her music - flying the flag high for up and coming female vocalists in Manchester and beyond. TMNMS makes up an integral part of the NoSpace crew and is a versatile and flawless beatmaker/DJ in his own right. His clean and quirky productions go hand in glove with Eva’s spirit and individuality, making the synergy between the stage and the floor something to behold when they step in the spot. Her latest solo singles ‘Full Circle’ and ’18:08’ are must listens that only scratches the surface of her outputs – go and get lost in her vocal back catalogue and get to the front for this one.

Local singer songwriter Prima is an artist in the true sense of the word. Classically trained with a heavenly voice, Prima’s solo career consists of her vocal mastery being put against atmospheric productions, namely on her 3-volume EP series ‘The Butterfly Effect’ featuring the likes of DRS, Zed Bias, JSD & DYNO: Vol.1 – ‘Caterpillar’, Vol.2 – ‘Cocoon’ & Vol.3 – Butterfly, reflecting her progression as an artist. Showcasing her versatility as a vocalist, Prima has provided the pipes on multiple singles by bassline heavyweights Champion and Shapes, whilst also being represented by ‘BBC MUSIC introducing…’, whose stage at this years Reading and Leeds Festival is blessed with an array of Manchester talent, including the woman herself alongside HMD & Larkins. We’re glad to have booked Prima while we still can and can’t wait to see her perform on the night.

Based in South Manchester, Inka is an inspired DJ/producer who has been turning heads in the UK underground for a while, mesmerising dancefloors up and down the country with his unmistakeable selections. From the studio, he manages to bend and fuse sub-low frequencies with his own unique influences from the worlds of hip-hop, soul and ambience, creating a trademark Inka-style. Expect to be taken on a journey through sound at his shows, as he sets his own unique productions alongside some of the deepest cuts around. The Beeswaxx resident and co-founder always delivers the energy so bring your dancing shoes.

Throughout the night Beeswaxx residents will be keeping the vibes alive - delivering funk, garage, hip-hop, disco and all the rest - so get down early!
