This one's for all our Manchester Friends and Family crew! A Bank Holiday reunion (remember those infamous Bank Holiday parties at Kro Bar?!) With Mr Thing, Il Bosco and Kwasi joining the Social Service djs at Morgans Bar for Dance Now Talk Later. Excited??!! We might even fire up the BBQ!
With an international profile in hip hop, funk and turntablist culture, Mr Thing is widely recognised to be one of the most skilled djs in the world. Since he first got started in 1987 he has been busy perfecting his art, going on to win the 1999 DMC World Team Championships with the Scratch Perverts and then by himself in 2000. Mr Thing creates flawless and exciting sets mixing the rarest with some of the best-loved records with an effortless ease that is quite frankly jaw-dropping to watch.
We first saw him play at Southport Weekender last year when his mind-boggling turntable skills even made The Social Service's legendary grump Dave O unfold his arms and dance!! 10/10!!
Joining Mr Thing we have our good pal and Manchester icon Il Bosco digging out loads of his old Fat City jazz, funk, boogie house soul for a Friends and Family throwback set. He reckons it could be his best set ever! If it is he might even get a ride on my shoulders again!!
And you just can't have a party like this without the positive force that is Manchester's chief vibe-bringer Kwasi Asanti stepping up to the mic. Buzzing to have Kwasi joining us at Morgans. Aiiiiiieee!
The Social Service djs will be on warm up duties from 9 when doors open.
Tickets start at £12 for early birds. As ever all profits will be going to charity.
