DROPJAW X BASSBOX: Freshers

With Freshers week on the horizon, we thought it would only be fair to combine the DropJaw soundsystem with the rising student events brand: Bassbox. This time in a new venue.. Kable Club. Bringing you a diverse lineup, we've brought in heavyweights in the DNB scene - Upgrade hosted by Haribo.

Upgrade

Aka Sam Smith, got hooked on drum & bass from the moment he heard it on a tape pack. He taught himself production using Reason, aiming to replicate and then craft his own drum patterns. His unique sound has garnered praise from established producers like Hazard, Micky Finn, and Nicky Blackmarket. Signing with Serial Killaz was a turning point, with label boss Tobie Scopes recognizing his potential after just one listen. His track "Gunshots" exemplifies his dance-inducing music style. Upgrade constantly evolves his sound, driven by a desire to stand out in a saturated industry. With meticulous production, support from top names, and upcoming releases, DJ Upgrade is one to watch

Ezair 

Ezair has been smashing up the Drum and Bass scene, whilst also successfully founding and curating events with the brand: Bassbox. Ezair has had the opportunity to work with Worried about Henry supporting some of the biggest names including opening for Manchester's finest: Warehouse Project. Expect some dark, deep and filthy Drum n Bass with some smooth blends. 

Kyber 

Kyber is a rising talent in the Manchester drum and bass scene known for her high-energy performances and mix of genres. Hailing from a small town in Lancashire. After honing her skills as a bedroom DJ, Kyber began playing local shows in December 2022 and quickly gained a residency with Dropjaw Audio and Pure FM London Radio for her sets. 

Kyber's music is characterized by its energy and diverse range of influences. From minimal and deep Drum and Bass to high energy Speedbass and Tekno.

Kobah 

Manchester based DJ Kobah, has been ripping up Bassbox’s dancefloor supporting names such as Disrupta, J-Bookey and Diagnostix. Not only has he been ripping up Manchester's finest clubs, but he has been a regular on Unity Radio, hitting up North Bass and Friends show. B2B with Ezair, you're in for a consistent and belting journey of Drum and Bass. 

Trobe

Longtime Dropjaw Audio resident Trobe knows a thing or two about tearing up the dancefloor. Effortless high-tempo switches between drum and bass, 140s, tek, and whatever else he feels like playing on the night ensure a consistent flow of bangers which will have you constantly popping off gun fingers and calling for reloads. If you haven't listened to any of Trobe’s releases, get looking. 

Haribo

Haribo has been the rising MC in Drum and Bass, winning Best breakthrough artist MC in 2021. Heavily known through Drum and Bass, Haribo has also been known for working on solo projects within the HipHop  and 140 scene. Releasing music with some of the biggest names, including Bou, Turno and Skepsis, you should already know what to expect on the night.
