Metalheadz returns to Joshua Brooks on Friday 3 April, bringing one of drum & bass’ most influential imprints back to the Manchester basement. The night is led by Goldie, joined by Ant TC1 and Diverge for a tight, label-led session built around heritage, weight, and forward momentum.
Goldie enters this date off the back of a widely recognised creative resurgence. His 2025 album Alpha Omega, released as Rufige Kru, marked his first full project under the alias in over a decade and was met with critical acclaim. Now 60, he remains an active touring artist, continuing to shape the sound and direction of Metalheadz while staying firmly connected to the dancefloor.
Alongside him, Ant TC1 oversees Metalheadz as Director and Label Manager, a role he stepped into in 2017 at Goldie’s invitation. Also running Dispatch Recordings, Ant TC1 is known for technically precise, long-form DJ sets that span jungle, techstep, and modern drum & bass, often delivered across four decks. His selections reflect both the label’s history and its current output.
Completing the lineup is Diverge, Leeds-based DJ and Metalheadz Label Manager, working closely with Goldie and Ant TC1 on the label’s day-to-day operations. A regular presence at Metalheadz showcases worldwide, his sets draw deeply from the catalogue, balancing classic material with contemporary releases and keeping the label’s identity intact on the floor.
The session takes place in the Joshua Brooks basement: an intimate, close-quarters room set beneath bricked arches andpowered by the Void Acoustics sound system. It’s a space designed for weight, pressure, and detail, fitting naturally with Metalheadz’ long-standing approach to drum & bass.
Show your ticket at the middle-floor bar between 7:30pm and 9pm for discounted drinks before heading downstairs. Applies on nights where no other bar events are scheduled.
