Idiom Presents: Auntie Flo, Letherette, Werkha on Wednesday 6th June 2018

For our 3rd Idiom shindig we're bringing the summer flavours with three of our favourite eclectic DJs. Expect afro, funk, disco and world sounds all night long - a masterclass in global dance-floor vibes.

Lineup

Auntie Flo [Huntleys & Palmers]
Letherette [Ninja Tune]
Werkha [Tru Thoughts]
Oedipa [Idiom/Red Bull Studios]
Dame [Idiom/Limbo]

Auntie Flo - 'one of the most truly original production talents of recent times, Auntie Flo offers a gateway to lesser-known strands of music that need exploring. Auntie Flo has become a central figure in the ‘new strand of club music fusing electronic and world influences alongside the likes of Daphni, Four Tet, Romare, Sinkane and John Wizards’. Originally from Glasgow but now residing in London, he has travelled the world extensively pushing his unique ‘Afro-futurist’ sound.'

Letherette have been elegantly combining elements of funk and hip-hop for the past three years with releases on Alexander Nut’s Ho Tep imprint and the mighty Ninja Tune. Fusing elements of Dilla-esque hip-hop with french house and a decent dose of sampled funk, Letherette have a large back catalogue of critically acclaimed music, and a solid history of performing alongside the likes of John Hopkins, Pantha Du Prince, Lone to name a few.

Rounding off the night is our good pal and incredible multi-instrumentalist Werkha. With roots in the jazz scene but a distinct focus on the dancefloor, this guy draws inspiration from all over the world, creating truly unique music. With releases on the legendary Tru Thoughts label, the future is shaping up nicely for Werkha.

Expect free chocolate, fun-loving vibrations, bizarre visuals and a whole host of idiosyncrasies at our next show.

We are Idiom Audio - Idiosyncratic parties with the finest global selectors. Manchester driven, universally powered. Sound system by VOID.
