Yr Poetry & Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam! on Thursday 10th August 2017

Birmingham indie rock demi gods Alexei and Junior from Johnny Foreigner and Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam will be playing this Manchester date on their co-headline August tour! Come and love yr ears on a summers evening at Fred's in Levenshulme where the pints are £2 and the company is sweet!

YR POETRY Hello there. We are Alexei from Johnny Foreigner/Yr Friends and Junior from Johnny Foreigner/Fridge Poetry, but for the next year or so, we'll mostly be Yr Poetry. We started this band like a newly home'd couple buys a puppy and it kinda accidentally grew into a wolf. We've been recording since January and over the next 12 months we'll be dropping 3 mini albums, of which One Night Alive is the first. We've been povvo musicians for over 10 years now, and we've learnt a couple of undeniable truths; That the £value of a song is p much £0, but, people are willing to invest in artists they believe in. It's a bit of an experiment/potentially catastrophic gamble, but that's what informs our pricing system for this adventure: these next 3 releases will be PWYW on our bandcamp. OR, if you trust us, we'd ask you subscribe to said bandcamp and get everything sent to you as it's released. Subscription costs £20 and includes the CD release compiling all 3 that'll drop with the last one, as well as various perks like exclusive extra songs, 20% of merch, the kind of bonus content suitable for a modern internet based pay-cult ,and the warm embalming glow of knowing you're both directly investing in yr culture and helping us sleep easier. ONE NIGHT ALIVE So the idea is, each of these releases will have a theme running thru them. Idk if mini-concept-albums are a thing? Using only the tiniest bit of dramatic license, these 5 songs take place about an hour apart from each other on the same evening. I didn't consciously set out to write a pop punk musical about my friends but some nights are so extra they deserve their own soundtrack. I'm exploiting that real slim window between being too old for nightclubs, and too old to complain about the same nightclubs. All references to persons living or dead are completely intentional but it's bad luck to tell someone you wrote a song about them so plz never ask xo One Night Alive is out 3rd April 2017 Itunes/Spotify/Etc or PWYW DL/CD+Subscription www.IBelieveInYrPoetry.bandcamp.com www.facebook.com/yrpoetry www.twitter.com/lexkelandjun questions comments pc4pc: yrpoetrytheband@gmail.com

Take the visceral joy and decibel assault of a 747 taking off and you get some idea of what it is
to experience Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam. Since 2011 the Birmingham based four piece have
held no fear in busting out their ferocious pop at an alarming rate. With infectious guitar hooks
and triple-decker vocals this is a gang having serious fun, from the catchiness of party tunes
‘Ibiza Rocks’ and ‘Auto’ to the desert dune rock of ‘Teeth’. Inspiration is drawn from all angles be
it Fugazi and Shellac, or Modest Mouse and Sun Kil Moon, but ultimately they make a rapid noise
that is truly their own. Relentless in their output having recorded nearly a hundred songs,
releasing 3 albums and 15 singles all with the dedicated touch of adventurous artwork, inventive
videos and a Halloween song every year since inception; this summer now sees the release of
double-album “Sink or Swim” and a UK tour with studio roommates Yr Poetry commencing in
July. Don’t hesitate diving in:
