Iconic reggae-pop collective UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro will bring their bursting back-catalogue of hits to the BEC Arena this April, as Manchester Reggae Festival returns, following last November’s hugely popular edition at the same venue. Showcasing the very best of the genre’s sound, the Autumn event will prove a home for all things Caribbean, with reggae fans set to gather together in the gigantic arena.
Led by the tones of Ali Campbell and Astro, figureheads of UB40, the pair will perform a selection of their biggest hits, including chart-toppers ‘Red Red Wine’ and ‘I Got You Babe’. Amassing more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart across the span of a 40+ year career, the band have achieved considerable success on the international stage, garnering 4 x GRAMMY Awards for ‘Best Reggae Album’, as well as selling over 70 million records worldwide.
With a further selection of all-star guests set to perform at the event, the return of Manchester Reggae Festival will see the finest names from the worlds of dancehall, jungle, and reggae-inspired tones touch down in the iconic British city to deliver a night to remember to the thousands in attendance. With JBM Music also hosting the Milton Keynes Reggae Festival this coming summer, the event brand - ‘Best Large Club Promoter’ nominees at the Skiddle Awards - will bring a further 7 brand- new festivals to the UK this year. The move follows a hugely successful 2019 for the company, in which JBM Music (brainchild of experienced events and marketing duo Jorge Meehan & Brian Murphy) booked 328 artists over the course of 64 huge music events across 7 cities.
