THE PROTOTYPES w/ 2SHY MC
What a whirlwind couple of years it's been for THE PROTOTYPES. City of Gold LP was one of the biggest records of 2015 and the releases since then have been insane. Breaking away from Viper Recordings to form Get Hype Recordings (nominated best new label), this duo show no signs of slowing down. We are very excited to welcome them back to perform for us after they took the roof off the place at Grand Theft Audio's 1st birthday and are delighted to welcome one of the top MC's in the world, 2SHY MC, to host the set.
JUNE MILLER (Last set in Manchester ever) w/ MC DEEFA
Few Drum & Bass heads can have heard the news that the Dutch Neuro duo, JUNE MILLER, currently signed to the massive Ram Records, have decided to stop making music. 'Over the past few months we have taken some time to positively look back at our time with June Miller, and in that thinking we have both decided that its time June Miller comes to an end.' they sent in an emotional message to their fans on 2nd February. After that we were inundated with requests to get them on for one last time in Manchester before they retire. And we have listened and booked them. Expect twisted rollers and spicy Neuro stompers from this world reknowned pair of badman producers. Supported by one of Brighton's finest, MC DEEFA.
A.M.C. w/ MC PHANTOM
What can you say about one of the best DJ's in the entire world? A.M.C. is known for his super fast mixing, solid double drops, diversity of DnB subgenres and more recently his awesome production. He absolutely destroyed the place when we got him on with partner in crime, MC PHANTOM at the Grand Theft Audio 2nd Birthday so we are thrilled to have him back for round 2.
FUNK AESTHETICS w/ MC PRIMITIFF
This is not just a Manchester debut, but a UK debut for FUNK AESTHETICS & MC PRIMITIFF, the badass Bulgarians with the hearts of Neuro darkness. Expect pummelling beats and bass from these guys as they relentlessly put the new Funktion 1 rig through it's paces. This is a set, not to be missed by anyone who loves the darker, techier side of DnB.
NOTHING TO LOSE & ECHIDNA w/ DILIGENT FINGERS & HARIBO
With huge release Shaolin ft. Frisko and I Need You ft. Island at the start of last year as well as the heavy hitting solo Echidna single Overlord/ Light Time and the diverse and well received Nothing To Lose & Friends EP, last year was strong for these two on the production front. Especially with the waves that new track 'Cyclops' is making in every rave it's played. And with big releases forthcoming on Druid Records, Grand Theft Audio and Warfare Recordings, they show no signs of slowing down for 2017. A NOTHING TO LOSE & ECHIDNA performance is characterised by varied tune selection, solid technical ability and energetic crowd interaction. Expect plenty of classics and unreleased dubs, huge tunes and rollers. All mixed in their unique style.
STATURE w/ HINDSIGHT
STATURE is the perfect blend of tune selection and ability. Whether it's classics, rollers or liquid, Stature has the crowd reading skills to pick out the tune that's going to make the room go off. Head honcho of the popular Worried About Henry brand, he puts on successful events all over the country incl. Manchester, Brighton and Liverpool. With HINDSIGHT, Grand Theft Audio's resident MC, on mic duties, this is one performance worth catching.
DATA 3 B2B SL8R
DATA 3 is a trio of Drum and Bass producers formed of Harry Bryson (Pola & Bryson), Dan Hartley (MIDA) and Alex Kostyakov (Syrum). Who hail from the same sleepy West Yorkshire town, and met through their shared love of the genre. They have releases on Grand Theft Audio, Soul Trader, Subtitles and Skank & Bass. Things really started to pick up during 2016 with radio plays left right and centre including a world premiere on Frictions Radio 1 Drum and Bass show. The trio are now focusing on releasing their debut EP in early 2017.
SL8R is a Manchester based DnB producer/ DJ originally hailing from Birmingham. With a very distinctive clean (but dirty in all the right places) sound, Connor is king of the roller. With releases on Grand Theft Audio / AutomAte/ Liquid Flavours / Delta9 / T3K / Schedule One / Black Inferno he is very prolific. When paired with Data 3, expect the unexpected.
HEAVY P B2B BRYK
2 of Manchester's finest up and coming DJs, these guys honed their skills separately before discovering they had some serious chemistry behind the decks. HEAVY P came from more of a jungle background while BRYK was Neuro. When they combine their styles and skills, you get a unique set that has the diversity of both with some extra treats sprinkled in.
