Spiral Cities are a six-piece alternative pop band from Glasgow, who formed back in 2019 and have been busy crafting hook-laden tracks ever since. Scott Monaghan (lead vocals, keyboard and synths), Ross Dalziel and Andy Arthur (both on guitar and backing vocals) met and forged a union with the desire to make music. In 2020, when Fraser Haggerty seized bass responsibilities and Greg Conn took over on the drums, and finalised their line up with the addition of Max Corbett in 2022. Now, together, they each bring an equal measure of experience and skill with composition and arranging to the table. In turn, this serves their growing fanbase with a whole lot of enjoyable listens to lap up. Spiral Cities possess a commercial, melodic sound in the main, but you can bet they can turn their deft hands to work with softer, gentler elements, too. Their recipe of refined music has a unique delectability that you’ll be all too keen to revisit time and time again. From rock to pop, EDM to metal, the quintet comes armed with a plethora of influences. As fans of The Smiths, Johnny Marr, Foals, Foster The People, Sam Fender, Chic and more, you can bank on them having knitted their trademark style out of plenty of iconic inspiration. And at each of their shows, there’s a distinct focus on creating memorable performances for their effusive crowds.
