About Oh, Mary!

Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre in London is a dark comedy by Cole Escola, directed by Sam Pinkleton and starring Mason Alexander Park. It focuses on the miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, with the story shaped by unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires.

This 80-minute one-act play has been described by The New York Times as “one of the best comedies in years”. It received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton.

For its London transfer, Mason Alexander Park stars as Mary Todd Lincoln, with Kate O’Donnell as Mary’s Chaperone, Oliver Stockley as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Dino Fetscher as Mary’s Teacher and Giles Terera as Mary’s Husband.
