THE BARRATTS

Saturday May 27th

Your headliners are the Northampton-based outfit who know how to crack out the killer riffs for their bold, slinky, energetic indie-rock.

Singer and guitarist James Faulkner’s wistful, Romantic lyricism celebrates, satires, and despairs in equal measure at the characters and trappings of life in the Middle of England.

Latest single ‘Crooked Mile’ shows them firmly continuing their songwriting progression and displaying some nifty musical chops!

DESERT SHIPS

'Cosmic space rock brothers blending motorik beats and three part harmonies'
Desert Ships met and bonded over their pilfered parents vinyl collections. From Spacemen 3 to Crosby Stills & Nash, from Can to the Beach Boys, and from Steve Reich to Serge Gainsbourg they put it all into their own soup. They've been releasing records and touring for ten years. The first two records saw collaborations with Mark Gardener (of seminal shoegaze band Ride), and Sonic Boom. The third was recorded at Abbey Road with Haydn Bendall (Kate Bush) and Alex Scannell (The Bees). Brand new album 'Heavy Soup' was produced by vocalist/guitarist Mikey at his home studio during lockdown. With quality song craft and an astute ear for an entrancing arrangement, these loveable characters blend garage rock, dream pop and neo-psychedelia to create their own sci-fi blues. Notable fans include John Kennedy, Alan McGee, Andy Bell, Andrew Weatherall RIP and Cerys Mathews.
