Feeling Gloomy - Morrissey, Please Stop Being A Twat! on Saturday 4th August 2018
Morrissey, once we loved him. He could do almost no wrong. Remember the Moz of 'It's so easy to laugh, It's so easy to hate , It takes strength to be gentle and kind'? It seems an eternity ago.
Morrissey was a big part of Feeling Gloomy, heck the final song of the night has always been There Is a Light (That Never Goes Out) for the past 13 years, but we've reached a point where we can't ignore the elephant in the room any longer. Morrissey you've become an utter twat.
But! We at the Gloom are not ones to give up! Oh no. Morrissey return to the light. Stop spouting bile in every direction and cosying up to dubious politicians. Call it an intervention (short of us coming round your you L.A pad, as we're a bit skint).
We're asking you to stop being a twat and return to the values we all thought The Smiths represented. If Johnny Marr can, then why not you?
As such we're going to spend the night spinning loads of tunes by The Smiths (no Morrissey solo until you stop being a silly boy), tunes by people you've insulted over the years (yes, we know it'll be a long playlist), plus spinning the usual maudlin belters and handing out a few Johnny Marr masks and if you continue to be naughty we'll even be playing pin the arse on Morrissey.
Please Morrissey. Stop. Being. A. Twat.
Music Genres: Alternative, Indie
