Naked Lunch with Simone Marie Butler on Friday 26th November 2021

Naked Lunch with Simone Marie Butler (Primal Scream / Soho Radio) plus bdrmm live, Andy Bell (Ride) live & Jamie Reynolds (Klaxons) DJ

Simone Marie is a live/session bass player, Dj, radio presenter and bassist with Primal Scream. She has played and recorded with artists including James Williamson (The Stooges) Faris Badwan (The Horrors, Cats Eyes) and Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey).
Simone DJs at clubs and festivals across the U.K. and Europe such as Glastonbury, All points East, Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Spiritland (London) and more. As well as hosting her own radio show ‘Naked Lunch’ on Soho Radio every Wednesday from 12 - 2pm playing a mix of new music.
Hull, U.K.-based quintet Bdrmm walk the line between dream pop and shoegaze, switching between ethereal melancholy and driving delay with ease. Originally a solo project, lead vocalist Ryan Smith decided to expand into a band; he roped in his brother, Jordan Smith, on bass before drafting Joe Vickers (guitar), Danny Hull (synth, backing vocals), and Luke Irvin (drums). Their debut single, 'C:U,' was picked up by small London label Permanent Creep, which secured the song radio play. The track was noticed by Sonic Cathedral, which signed the band in 2019 and went on to release their debut EP, If Not, When?, later the same year. They followed up with a full-length release, Bedroom, in 2020.
ANDY BELL began his solo project in 2020, during lockdown, when Andy started a residency at a coffee shop called Lo-Fi that opened up in Crouch End, North London, where he lives. As a way of reaching people with some form of live music, Andy started streaming performances from the empty coffee shop, playing electric guitar along with reworked versions of backing tracks from his various musical worlds. This is an ongoing residency, but didn’t have a name until Andy was asked by Stereolab to support them at a recent gig, which meant he had to think of a name for it. The music comes from GLOK, Andy's solo material, and unreleased stuff too - the backing tracks are deconstructed and extended in a way that makes them easy to improvise over. The gigs are instrumental - like a DJ set with live guitar.
£8 advance more on the door, 10pm-4am
