Theo Alexander on Wednesday 8th September 2021
Pianist and composer Theo Alexander, who has been compared to the likes of Nils Frahm, Steve Reich, and John Luther Adams, comes to the beautiful hall of St Pancras Old Church for his London debut.
Theo Alexander writes energetic, intricate music using piano, tape loops and synthesisers. Preoccupied by themes of memory, repetition, and decadence, his music is often ecstatic, splicing melodic patterns together in complex and affecting structures of sound. His approach is driven by a desire to subvert the acoustic qualities of the piano with electronic counterparts.
Those with their fingers on the pulse of the next exciting classical/electronic composer to take London by storm can’t miss out on what will be a truly stunning evening of music.
'Fans of John Luther Adams will find the towering clouds of sonics that Theo Alexander has put together incredibly pleasing. It’s a beautiful landscape.' - Independent Clauses
'Alexander's weapon of choice is the piano and much like a Nils Frahm, he finds ways to create a melodic dissonance and percussion that takes you on an emotional magic carpet ride.' – Magnetic
