Son Of The South London Soul Train w/Old Dirty Brasstards (Live) on Saturday 24th November 2018
THE SLST OMEARA LAST SAT OF MONTH SESSIONS CONTINUE! Sat Nov 24 - Jazzheadchronic presents Son Of The South London Soul Train! The SLST welcoming you back aboard the new strictly good time, soul food serving, bullet train to destinations sonically known and very much unknown. The Son of The SLST departing 11pm sharp from it’s lush last Sat of the month, multi-room home, OMEARA London.
Guest Hosts DISCO WONDERLAND DJs joined in the main carriage by the totally dynamic, snappily dressed and always entertaining (LIVE) Brass Wielding Gents, that are The OLD DIRTY BRASSTARDS. All artists joining forces to deliver a sumptuous pure soul food and disco buffet on a dynamite rig, for max dancefloor satisfaction. With The Mighty ROB MESSER + WARREN BOOGALOO delivering surefire shots of Northern Soul in Carriage 2, you know we mean business. So buckle up and get ready to enjoy the ride - Believe us when we say, we gonna seriously, positively get down!
ROOM 1 - OLD DIRTY BRASSTARDS (LIVE)
Since forming in 2012, Old Dirty Brasstards has gained an enviable reputation for its bold and innovative approach, on a mission to introduce brass music to brand new audiences.
The tweed-clad 10-piece brass and drum collective comprises of some of London's leading freelance musicians, playing an eclectic fusion of pop, rock, hip hop, R&B, funk and soul covers that never fail to get any dance floor jumping with joy!
ODB has brought its uniquely entertaining and energetic style to several major music festivals across the UK, including Bestival, Glastonbury, Latitude and Secret Garden Party, Koko & More + we truly can't wait to welcome them back to The South london Soul Train Live Stage.
DISCO WONDERLAND DJS
SLST Residents NICK HALKES & CRISSY KYBOSH dropping 80’s boogie, soul, funk, disco and proto house, evoking the spirit and dipping into the soundtrack of legendary NYC clubs such as 'Paradise Garage’ & 'Studio 54’. Highlighting the sounds that emerged as the 70’s, turned into the 80’s and the DNA of club music as we know it today was being written.
Then in ROOM 2 / THE NORTHERN SOUL ROOM.
S’all all about the Northern Soul of it all. The Legendary ROB MESSER and WARREN BOOGALOO dropping the platters that absolutely always will matter. The choicest cuts from the Motown, Stax, Volt, Chess & the rest vaults served up for max soul satisfaction. This rooms also has plenty of place to chill with seating and a mezzanine + access to the open air terrace on the upper level. So come get down and get your groove or chill on! As we like to say…
Son Of The South London Soul Train (as always) we'll be taking all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. P-Funk to Jazz Funk, Soul Jazz to Rare Groove N’ Stax, Brass & Breaks, House, Hip Hop, Motown, Club Classics and Anthems.
However - Passengers are requested to check their Souls at the Station as this one's for good time party people only! No Bass Wobbles Here, Only Love, Funk and Souuuuuuuul.
Son Of The South London Soul Train Runs 11pm - 5am / Last Sat of each month (except Dec) at OMEARA London. Entry £5-13 Adv from RA or £15 OTD / The South London Soul Train runs every Saturday night at The CLF Art Cafe www.clfartcafe.org + beyond.
