Burn Down The Disco - Bowie: Ziggy Stardust 45th Anniversary Special! on Saturday 10th June 2017
Join us for the mother of all Bowie Specials as we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the iconic Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars album.
Released on 16th June, 1972 Ziggy Stardust changed music forever. From that performance of Starman on Top Of The Pops which confused the hell out of parents but inspired a whole new generation to the legendary final gig at Hammersmith Odeon a year later, Bowie's Ziggy Stardust character is still his most famous incarnation.
Join us as we play every track from the album as well as tons of other Bowie faves!
There'll also be Bowie movie clips on our big screen, David Bowie colouring in and loads of other Bowie related fun including our legendary Dance Magic Dance Off
As well as Bowie, you can expect to hear the likes of The Strokes, The Smiths, T.Rex, Lou Reed. Franz Ferdinand, The Beatles, Suede, The Horrors, The Libertines, Pulp, Arctic Monkeys, The Clash, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wolf Alice, The Kinks, Blur, Joy Division, Blondie, The Specials and loads more stuff that you’ll instantly recognise and want to shake a leg to.
Burn Down The Disco is an indie, soul, rock n roll and synth night that aims to please all ages. If you’re expecting 90s bands from Manchester on repeat all night, then you’ve picked the wrong place. Yes, we do play all the classic indie hits, but we also play Motown, ska, rock n roll, synthpop as well as the latest floor fillers by the current indie darlings. No crap remixes and no obscure songs that only hipster Harry and his dog know about. Burn Down The Disco is all about having a dance, having a sing along and not taking yourself too seriously.
Music Genres: 60s, Alternative, Indie, Rock & Roll
