Nambucca Live Presents: Hekz / Primitai / Neuronspoiler on Friday 27th March 2020
Nambucca Live Presents:
'These Bedford boys aren't afraid to take the inspiration of Iron Maiden the rationale of Dream Theater and make the combination work for them.'
PROG Magazine (UK)
Drawing influence in equal parts from heavy metal legends and prog rock luminaries, HeKz seek to take the original progressive metal blueprint and rewrite it for themselves.
Their debut album ‘TABULA RASA’ laid a firm foundation, and now follow up effort ‘CAERUS’ sees the band striving to fuse the two contrasting elements of their sound to produce something truly unique.
The cornerstones of the band’s sound; the commanding vocal delivery of Matt Young and the characteristic twin guitars of Al Beveridge and Tom Smith are augmented by Mauro Zarattini’s swirling synths and chunky Hammond, all kept in line by the tasteful and sometimes daring drumming of Kirk Brandham.
As ever, the song is king and the band never veer into self-indulgence but rathermore merge virtuosic passages with fist-pumping melodies and a dramatic storytelling sensibility.
With their third album 'INVICTA', one should expect a more homogenised sound – combining the best of what has come before and taking it forward into exciting and unexplored territory.
Taken from the Latin word for “unconquered”, INVICTA is a celebration of perseverance and resilience.
The ten songs on the album come together to form a story of betrayal, loss, reconciliation and hope. The themes of the songs are rooted in real experience, reflecting the triumph and defeat that we all encounter on our journey through life and, in the case of the latter, how we can choose to be consumed by it, or fight on and emerge stronger.
The album will be officially released on Friday 20 April 2018, but you can pre order now to receive your copy almost a month in advance (pre-orders will be dispatched worldwide on Friday 23 March).
“If you had any doubt about the current state of health of the British progressive metal scene, let these guys reassure you: HeKz is one of the most promising bands on the scene!”

New album THE CALLING out 25.05.2018 via Dissonance Productions
Primitai’s break through came in 2010 upon release of their 2nd album LINE OF FIRE, which lead to UK tours and festivals
including Bloodstock, Hard Rock Hell, Hammerfest, High Voltage and Wacken Cruise. Their 2013 album RISE AGAIN, mixed
and mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom and featuring a guest appearance from Ritchie Faulkner (JUDAS PRIEST), pushed them
higher to dates with SEPULTURA and SAXON, and praise from the biggest rock publications. After a 2015 UK tour with
WOLF, the band went into studio to make NIGHT BRINGS INSANITY with production handled by Lasse Lammert
(ALESTORM, GLORYHAMMER). The album was released in 2016, propelling them to headline shows across the UK, and
slots with bands as diverse as HELL, SODOM, POWER QUEST, CRAZY LIXX and BLAZE BAYLEY. 2018 has seen the band sign a
record deal with DISSONANCE PRODUCTIONS for the release of their latest album THE CALLING, produced once again by
Lasse Lammert and with artwork by Claudio Bergamin (JUDAS PRIEST, BATTLE BEAST). The summer months since the
release have already seen the album receive international magazine coverage, shows in the UK and Europe on lineups
with heavy metal legends like RIOT and SATAN as well as fellow scene leaders like CAULDRON and BURNING WITCHES.
