Music, vibe and crowd couldn't be faulted, the Love Muscle team worked their socks off. The event was unfortunately let down by the venue, the Lafayette, which due to a previous event which overran the opening of Love muscle was delayed in opening, leading to a queue outside of up to 1.5 hours, followed by over-officious security staff - and another 20 minutes wait at the cloaks. the bars stopped serving around 3 (when the event was on until 6) Then the whole event was shuttered at 4 due to the building/area not having water (although no water outages were reported at that time)- this leading to a 40 minute queue for cloaks again, and i saw people get given the wrong items etc - it was laughable at this stage.
The show however was fabulous! I hope they run the event again with the above issues taken into consideration!

Badly organised overcrowded event lacking in any atmosphere.
Queued for 90 minutes due to 'technical issues' the eve h opened late. From the moment we got in there was no running water throughout the venue . However, it wasn't until 4am that they said the club would close for health and safety reasons because of this issue with Yvette announcing that this was a. Issue affecting the whole of Kings Cross - this was in fact a lie. We suspect the venue turned the taps off intentionally to make money from charging £3 for a paper cup of water. Issues with LaFayette:
Opened 1 hour late
Closed 2 hours early - because the water went off
1 room - too small for a dance
event
Hopefully the party will happen again, hopefully in a better venue

Dreadful queued for hour and a half to get in the queued for half an hour to out coats away. Water in cups unacceptable due to spiking risk. Should be in bottles. Love Muscle totally oversold tickets which meant venue was rammed. Final straw was water failure at 01:30. Over all a total disaster. I'd never go to an event at this venue ever again

Great night really , however the one hour delay in opening the venue was annoying. Also none of the toilets had water in them , none of the flushes worked

Absolutely jam packed, that says it all. There is a huge following to Love Muscle, and those who were in their twenties in the 1980s and 1990s are now over 60. So the vast majority of attendees were in an older age group. They had a great time, as could be seen on the packed dance floor, with nostalgic hit music from the 80s and 90s. Most people who go clubbing are young, so I fear that it will not be sustainable as a new event in the long term. Clubbers expect darkrooms, & the stage show was massively toned down from when it was in the Fridge, & there was no nudity at all. Fire has been regularly holding porn shows, & that is what edgy shows have become today.
Love Muscle could take its huge success & supporters to Fire. Lafayette is in an expensive area next to St. Pancras, where it is virtually impossible to find any free car parking space. Anyone wrongly parked risks tickets, or at worst, having your car towed away. Good on the promoters for having the drive to bring Love Muscle back, and bring joy to so many.

Truly wonderful night from Love Muscles point of view but the venue was simply dreadful - no water in the toilets, security was not gay friendly, we had to wait for over an hour to get in after the opening time (and I was at the top of the queue), no water in the toilets and we were all kicked out 2 hours early. Lafayette let us all down. Technical difficulties also meant the club night started late.

As for the production from Love Muscle - WOW just wow.

I would recommend Love Muscle but not Lafayette.

Venue was wrong on every level. Badly managed queues to get in and coat check. Made us wait outside as the event before ran over. Took 90 minutes to actually get in to the venue. Then two hours before the night was due to finish the water ran out and the place had to close. Then 45 minutes to get our coats back. Despite this we still managed to have a great time. Never ever again going back to Lafayette.

Venue was a disaster. Club opened an hour late. Then an an hour queue to get in. No water in taps/loos/bar after 12.00. Club finished 2 hours early at 4.00! Complete disaster orlf a venue.
