When my best friend and I arrived, it was nothing like we expected. The venue was awful; dark and seedy-looking. We definitely feel cheated for our money. I wasted £50 - I couldn’t bear to ask my friend to pay me back since I was the one who encouraged her to come with me & I felt so embarrassed. We were expecting a bigger, brighter venue - c’mon, a little bit of glam, it’s supposed to be a MASQUERADE party. Have you guys even been to one? Well I’ve never been but have you seen movies?

My god it was so not worth £25. There wasn’t even finger food! We arrived at half 7 since it took us ages to find parking. My friend phoned the hotel and said there would be parking outside ....but it didn’t quite specify if it was okay and we didn’t want to risk it. Parking was expensive by the way - when we found a safe car park (the cavendish). 

Despite arriving at half 7, there werent even that many people. And we were weirded out when the event-lady came up to us saying that she would help us mingle.....like why would we need help?? The whole atmosphere was just wrong. I never felt so humiliated. Thank god my other friends weren’t available. 

Since we were hungry & there was no food, we ate out and actually came back between half 8 and 9, thinking maybe things improved but the music was low, people were just talking, no real dancing. For heaven’s sake nobody was even wearing a mask! What was the point of calling it a masquerade party?? My friend and I are in our late twenties - the advert for the event was highly misleading, there weren’t many guys our age and that was really disappointing. 

The entire thing was disappointing and if it’s possible for a refund, then PLEASE.
