This programme will highlight the power of intimacy, sexuality and physical contact to combat the dullness and formality of society by bringing people closer. It will be curated by Maya Sfakianaki and will explore how individuals are using their physicality as a shield against the monotony of societal expectations.

The gathered films present an alternative approach to erotic filmmaking that understands and portrays sexuality in their own unique way. The programme offers a mix of animation, documentary and live action films from emerging filmmakers interested in exploring intimacy and sexual interaction, remembering its past, understanding its presence in modern society and wondering about its future.

Guest Curated by London Short Film Festival, Maya Sfakianaki.

Magnus Westwell

Westwell, a Scottish artist and director, will perform live improvisational violin scores blended with samples from their upcoming debut album, exploring dense orchestral wall-of-sound techniques and bleeding, decaying ambience.

A Sadler’s Wells Young Associate alumni, Westwell spans euphoric and desolate themes in choreography, composition, and performance. Their work seeks to understand ineffable emotional states, transcending intimacy and catharsis in movement and sound. Featured at venues and festivals across Europe and the UK, including live appearances at Cafe OTO and Sadler’s Wells Theatre.

With playing experience to rival those in the game for decades, a residency in FOLD now under her belt, and a famously huge arsenal of explosive tracks, Lockhart is one of the most exciting artists in the UK right now.

Her self-assured aura quickly spreads through crowds, instilling a bond of trust that remains throughout her time in the booth. Never far away from her sets is her mischievous grin that accompanies her dark, trance-infused melodies, whilst she toys with the crowd. Lockhart doesn’t play to them - she plays with them. Knowing precisely what actions will get the desired reactions, the crowd are her puppets, and Lockhart is their mistress.
