Brixton Disco Festival presents 'Encore' on Saturday 8th October 2022
Dimitri From Paris
Jocelyn Brown (Live PA)
Following the fourth consecutive sold out Brixton Disco Festival in April, we are back for our Autumn one-off 'Encore', at the iconic Electric Brixton this October. You can again expect high levels of production & stage spectacles to compliment an unmissable night of Disco! ✨
We are delighted to announce our biggest 'Encore' lineup to date, with Dimitri From Paris, Jocelyn Brown, Sophie Lloyd & Kirollus.
Disco doyen Dimitri From Paris is one of the most prolific disco producers and DJs of our time, having created numerous masterpiece across his career. Where other DJs shy away from defining their sound for fear of being pigeon-holed, Dimitri has no qualms about being known as a ‘disco king’. His superb album 'Le Chic Remix', showcasing edits and remixes of Chic productions, came out last year to huge acclaim, and including three brand new mixes.
Jocelyn Brown has performed for us twice at the main Brixton Disco Festival in 2018 and 2021, we are delighted she will be joining us for our autumn Encore. Born in the 50s, Jocelyn witnessed the birth of Disco, Funk and Soul music first hand. Infamous for her global hits 'Somebody Else's Guy' and 'Loves Gonna Get You', but also as a hugely influential vocalist who features heavily on records and labels including Chic, Cerrone, Inner Life, Musique and Salsoul, as well as voicing hits with Nuyorican Soul, Todd Terry, and many more.
With over 15 years experience, Sophie Lloyd is an expert at creating impeccable atmospheres through music alone, gracing stages such as Glitterbox, Defected Croatia, Mighty Hoopla + lots more. Her instantly recognisable hit track, ‘Calling Out’, released on Classic Music, is already a dancefloor favourite and an essential tune in any disco lover’s collection.
Kirollus is now a regular at Brixton Disco Festival events, and has an affinity for various styles of music; in particular boogie, funk, soul, rare groove and house. His knowledge on these the later genres far exceed his years and his 100% vinyl sets often consist of underground classics alongside lesser known gems. He's quickly growing a solid fanbase with his infectiously energetic mixes and ease at weaving between genres. This is garnering him the support of DJs such as Natasha Diggs & DJ Marky who have mentioned Kirollus to be one of their favourites at the moment and someone to keep an eye out for.
