Pama Int'l perform the Trojan Songbook pt.2

Pama International’s deep rooted connection to Trojan Records began in 2006 when they became the first new band to sign to the iconic record label in 30 years!  The, critically acclaimed, resulting album 'Trojan Sessions’ featured original songs penned by band writer/producer/keyboardist - Sean Flowerdew for reggae royalty; Derrick Morgan, Dawn Penn, Dave & Ansel Collins, AJ Frankin (Chosen Few), Dennis Alcapone and Winston Francis. In 2016 Pama International launched the official Trojan Records club night at Heavenly Records' London venue - The Social. And in 2018 they performed a highly popular two month ‘Trojan Records songbook’ UK tour, which culminated in two sold-out shows at the O2 Academy Islington with Ken Boothe and Desmond Dekker's Aces.

We are now delighted to announce that, as part of The London Int'l Ska Festival 2025, Pama International return with The Trojan Songbook part 2 tour! A brand new show that not only stars unique interpretations of Trojan Records' iconic back catalogue, but also original material from the bands first reggae album in eight years - Return of the Unity Rockers, (a “sensational soul induced reggae crossover, inspired by the late 70’s/early 80’s dancefloors”).

Joining the bill are the legendary Jamaican vocal group - The Chosen Few.  Fronted by founding member - AJ Franklin! Their Jamaican recordings, especially for Derrick Harriott, were quite simply sublime… with hits galore like Have You Seen Her, Ebony Eyes, Don’t Break Your Promise, You’re a Big Girl Now, People Make The World Go Round and three phenomenal albums for Trojan Records made them one of the most popular groups of their day.

Plus female reggae legend - Marcia Aitken, famed for her late 70s recordings for Joe Gibbs, including the number 1 hit I'm Still In Love With You Boy, the immense reworking of the Alton Ellis classic - I'm Still In Love With You.

Plus ska & rocksteady pioneers- Roy & Yvonne, who appeared on the 1964 classic This Is Ska film alongside; Prince Buster, Toots & The Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Stranger Cole, Monty Morris and Byron Lee & The Dragonaires and recorded for Studio One, Duke Reid, Rio, Caribou, Island, Blue Beat and many other classic ska labels.

Plus Argentina's biggest ska star - Hugo Lobo, the boss reggae sensation from Mexico - Travelers All Stars (who make their UK debut exclusively at LISF) and DJ Melvina Moves.
