31 Recordings present Future on Friday 24th April 2020
Dub Phizix & Strategy
DRS & Visionobi
On Friday, April 24th, we see the debut of Future at E1. Curated by Sine Series and Doc Scott’s 31 Recordings, the night will showcase the sounds of some of the genre’s most established talents.
DJ Lee fronts the billing. A familiar face to those in the know, Lee’s involvement in drum and bass runs back to its early formation, having held residencies at two of the genre’s most influential parties: LTJ Bukem and Fabio’s Speed, as well as Goldie’s Metalheadz Blue Note sessions.
Doc Scott joins next. Another former resident of both Speed and Bluenote Sessions, Scott has been essential to the continued growth of DnB, producing a number of seminal tracks in the form of Here Comes The Drumz, as well as Metalheadz first-ever release VIP Drumz. In recent times his 31 Recordings label has welcomed releases from Serum and DLR, two of contemporary drum and bass’ standout talents.
A pair synonymous with DnB, Dub Phizix and Strategy will also be attending. Having produced iconic releases in the form of Marka on Exit Records and Buffalo Charge on his own Senkasonic Records, Dub Phizix has carved out a unique take on drum and bass since his debut production nearly ten years ago.
Mainstays of dBridge’s Exit Records, Instra:Mental is the combined output of Boddika and Jon Convex. Early releases on the late Marcus Intalex’s Soul:r helped define their sound, whilst their performances incorporate a bespoke chemistry that few pairings can attest to.
J:Kenzo rounds things off. A resident of London’s Rinse FM, his eclectic sound melds influences of dub, jungle and techno, a feat that is reflected in his own label: Artikal Musik.
There will be two hosts for the evening in DRS and Visionobi. Poetic and expressive whilst packing an acid tongue, both are well-versed in the feat of hosting an evening of carefully curated drum and bass.
Support for the evening comes from SINE Series founder, Apey.
Music Genres: Drum n Bass
