British Urban Film Festival 2018 Hip-hop Documentary Double Bill on Wednesday 6th June 2018

British Urban Film Festival 2018 at Curzon Soho. BUFF was formed in July 2005 to showcase urban independent cinema.

This double bill of vital documentaries features two stories of seminal Hip Hop legacies from both sides of the Atlantic.

Under The Influence is a vibrant music history documentary that tells the story of Hip Hop, Soul and Reggae in the UK, through the eyes of its' musical pioneers. The film is the brainchild of legendary UK rapper Rodney P, known as the 'Godfather of UK Hip Hop' with a 30 year career in the industry from his beginnings in the London Posse to his solo career.

Fantastic - The Legacy of Slum Village tells the story of how three young men from the east side of Detroit (T3, the late Baatin and J Dilla) formed one of the most underrated groups in hip hop history. From hustle to success through tragedy and breakups, the legacy of Slum Village lives on.

We are joined after the film by Rodney P, Ty, T3, RJ Rice and Moe Lynch for a Q&A.

Wednesday 6 June 6.10pm, Curzon Soho.

Tickets £16.00 / £13.50 for Curzon Members.
