Conducted by Rimma Sushanskaya, the National Symphony Orchestra of Great Britain opens its 2026 Cadogan Hall season with an unforgettable evening of powerful, atmospheric orchestral music.
The concert opens with Sibelius's Finlandia, one of the most stirring and dramatic pieces ever written, followed by the Romance for Violin and Orchestra by Johan Svendsen - lyrical, expressive, and full of warmth - featuring acclaimed award-winning violinist Mathilde Milwidsky.
Sibelius's colourful Karelia Suite brings the first half to a vibrant close, before the orchestra launches into Dvořák's Symphony No. 9, "From the New World" - a thrilling, emotional masterpiece packed with unforgettable melodies and sweeping orchestral sound.
About the Soloist
Violinist Mathilde Milwidsky is a Classic FM Rising Star and Gramophone One to Watch, praised for her expressive playing and musical depth. She has performed at leading venues including Wigmore Hall and the Royal Festival Hall, and regularly appears on BBC Radio 3.
