Mozart Double Bill on Wednesday 13th June 2018

Pop-Up Opera return this summer with their new Mozart Double Bill: Der Schauspieldirektor & Bastien und Bastienne. The production will be directed by New British Music Theatre Award nominee, Anna Pool, critically acclaimed for her bold and fierily original directing style.

Sit back and enjoy these delicious one-act comedies, showcasing the vocal acrobatics of a pair actresses battling it out to be the prima donna, and a pair of lovers teasing and testing their feelings for each other. These brilliant gems are filled with Mozart’s gorgeous music and sense of playfulness, the first written in the last 5 years of his life and the second when he was just 12 years old! Two lively and engaging stories to delight you either side of an interval.

When we first started here, our audience members had to crawl through a hole and down a ladder into the tunnel shaft. We are spoiling you now as there is a fitted door and lit staircase, but the atmosphere has not changed and is still as unique and special.
We are further spoiling you as the Midnight Apothecary Cocktail Garden will be open before, during the interval and after the show serving delicious cocktails which can be included in the ticket.

We are back at the Tunnel Shaft at the Brunel Museum for two performances on:
Tuesday 12th June at 7:30pm
Wednesday 13th June at 7:30pm
