Review of Mrguild & LSA Christmas party

The event was canceled so lost my money

Disappointing

Overall rating: 3.5 Verified review

The venue was amazing with the incredible 360 views of London, the staff were very attentive + polite. The security were quick to react when ever a glass was dropped or accidentally knocked over, which definitely made you feel comfortable that there would be no trouble.
Having said all that the night itself was disappointing for what was charged (150.00 pp). There was no welcome ****tail on arrival, the buffet was very adequate but disappeared fast and nobody was in a hurry to replenish it. After midnight the DJ developed a sudden hatred for current music and indulged his love of JustinTimberlake. We left before the 3am breakfast but considering the buffet didn't think it would be any great loss.
£150,00 pp now seems alittle expensive for what we finally got. Not an experience I will pay to repeat, sadly.

New Year´s Eve at the Sky Bar

Overall rating: 2.5

The place is absolutely fantastic. But it was a little difficult to get some food. Drinks were soooooooo expensive (you need to buy tokens for 6pounds each and change them for drinks, so a glass of wine was this price). It was a new experience, but I think I will not repeat.

Great Night at Altitude

Overall rating: 4.5

I went to an event at Altitude 360 this week and thought it was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was great, but it was the remarkable view over the whole of London that really impressed me. From the
windows you can see all of London's prominent landmarks which no other events space can offer. The venue gets a 10/10 from me.

NYE at Altitude 360

Overall rating: 4.5

My friend attended the NYE party at Altitude 360 and said it was one of the best fireworks displays he had ever seen. He recommended the venue for me to check out next year which I have no doubt I will.

Altitude 360 Rip Off

Overall rating: 1

This venue was a complete waste of time and money. As stated by others... the food was horrible, the music crap, the service non-existent, and the worst part was not being able to see the fireworks due to foggy windows. The organizers are probably laughing right now at the amount of money they collected without having to do much to put this event together. Hopefully no one shows up for your event next year, but only enough people blog about your event. I'll do what ever I can to warn people about this rubbish event.

So disappointing that I would really like to say: How could some people say they saw the fireworks?! May be in the VIP area but I also saw some steaming windows but it felt they had a better ventilation system there?! But this cannot be a positive observation for the majority of people. Definitely I agree with Kiaraa 99 saying some promoters are trying to catch up with the many bad and original review on this page.
I personally have enough photo evidence of the venue (including the steaming windows) to faith them to court and ask for compensation. It is a disgrace and I would encourage everyone to stand for their rights!! The main issue of the event was to see the fireworks from the top of this building. This is the main reason I bought the tickets! Now ...I could cope eating risotto porridge, begging for a glass, or been tortured by the DJ but enough is enough!!. If they could not deliver (due to their negligence of how to organize a party) then they will have to take responsibility and refund the tickets... Common gays ...show your guts! You must have some picture of the event plus hundreds of witnesses including myself!!!!!.

New Years

Overall rating: 4.5

Very cool club. Apparently it had wicked views but I couldn't see the fireworks cos the vips took up most of the space. We had a cool time though and got to see them on the screens. Awesome to be where we were. Drinks were expensive. It would be cool if they could do a balcony so you don;'t have to go all the way down stairs to for a smoke.

Altitude 360 - A big let down, I wish I had gone elsewhere.

Overall rating: 1

At the cost of £310 for two tickets, my girlfriend and I chose to spend our New Years Eve at Altitude 360; after all there were all these great reviews here on the internet and we thought wed treat ourselves. I now advise people, dont believe the other reviews you read about Altitude 360, they are obviously written by the club promoters and bear no relation to the experience at the venue.
Yes the view is great, but long before the midnight hour arrived, the windows steamed up completely and very little of the fireworks could be seen, which was the whole point of being there. Even constant wiping with anything to hand resulted in immediate re-fogging. The building, which was obviously built as an office, had not been sufficiently upgraded to include heavy duty air-conditioning that could cope with 600 respirating punters. The décor was towards the low-budget chav-tastic end, and barely covers what is a quick, paint it all white, office-floor conversion. The staff utilisation and placement was woefully bad:
What little the ticket price covered in the way of food and drink was swamped in queues of people trying to get them. The champagne that was promised was carver!
There was no metal detection, no screening, no frisking or patting down on entrance which, considering how close we were to the Houses of Parliament on the night of a very popular western celebration, was a risk.
The bars where drink was served were temporary bars and therefore added to the general inadequacies shown by the staff. On occasion, the queue was 13 deep. The staffs experience and dexterity in handling the orders was redolent of a 1950s Womens Institute cake competition in a village hall.
The music shockingly bad not just the choice of out-of- date disco hits but the soup-like sock through which the sounds were filtered can hardly be called a music system. It was so bad that I could barely recognise the songs, which when I did, I deeply wished I hadnt. The place and the whole event was like some tragic school disco hosted in an oversized Essex girls bathroom, surrounded by hopelessly steamed up 60s windows, through which one could pitifully try to gawp at the festivities like a starving freshman with double cataracts.

Best Party in London

Overall rating: 4.5

Amazing firework show and what a place to watch them from.

Altitude 360 put on one hell of a New Years Eve Party. The venue looks like it should be in a James Bond film!!

We were greeted at the door by very friendly staff and given vouchers for our free drinks. We had a great buffet dinner, (all good except the risotto) and then partied upstairs till late.

the view from the top of the building is so cool. You can see the whole of London.

Great new years eve night, except it was just too busy on the streets outside being NYE.

I had to wait nearly one hour after the event to get a taxi as there were just none around.

Happy New Year

So went along with my two friends and my girl.

We arrived just before midnight. The buffet dinner was finished but got two vouchers for drinks.

Saw the fire works from the venue which were great! (Thanks BJ)

So then visited the other venue in the building which was like a ballroom. Really posh!

Spent most of the night just looking out the windows and trying to spot where I lived.

Had the breakfast which was OK......

Would I come back????

Where else would you rather be ??? In a basement club or on TOP OF THE WORLD for New Years Eve....

My friends complained there were not hot girls .... But I brought my own ~:)

Awesome night. Not as busy as I expected but cool vibe. Some friends complained there was not enough bass but I think thats picky.
I have never been anywhere like it, the views were AMAZING! Really friendly staff.

Brilliant

Overall rating: 5

I thought the whole night was amazing. One of, if not the best New Years I have had. You can hardly doubt the venue itself with its hands-down best view of London.
The music was good but to be honest I was too busy enjoying myself regardless of what the music was so I wasn't paying too much attention to that aspect.
Sure the tickets were slightly expensive but you got what you paid for. Amazing views, couple of drinks and a brilliant night out. The food was absolutely delicious when you consider how many people had to be fed and the fact that they had it all downstairs was fine too, I'd rather that than have it upstairs and take up party room!!
Steamy windows - so what? You could still see all the fireworks which were incredible and if yo're that much of a moaner then you could have turned around and watched the several TV screens to watch it. You can hardly expect a place full of about 600 people to not get condensation when its freezing outside.
Sure there was a VIP area, there always is at exclusive events like that and it didnt bother me whatsoever, they would have paid through the nose and so they deserved the view and service.
Overall an absolutely brilliant night out and I would happily do it again, as would the group of 32 people that I was with. I recommend it to everyone, even if they put ticket prices up next year (which they should).
Stop moaning you lot and think how lucky you were to be up there. Events like that with so many people alwasy have hiccups.

Where do I start?!

Overall rating: 2

There was so much wrong with this event that I don't know what to start with so here are a few observations!! It's so frustrating because with just a bit of common sense and organisation a lot of these could have been avoided or nullified. But the promoters obviously couldn't care less once they had your money and that really came across.

1. On arrival I wasn't given any complimentary drinks vouchers. So I had to argue with bar staff to get my complimentary champagne, not a good start. Mae me feel like a cheapskate but it's the principle really.
2. The buffet was a bizarre affair where everyone queued up like school dinners and waited for over 10 minutes until they opened the buffet. Then it was a free for all, weird. total disorganisation. No one told us where to go or what was happening for the entire night. Food quality was alright though.
3. Prices - way too high for such a rubbish venue, and the bar staff barely had a word of English between them. At one point I told the barman I was 'fine' as I was being served by someone else and then five bottle of Becks arrived!? - I was consistently overcharged by monosyllabic Russians and I had to get the bar manager over each time to refund me - not pleasurable.
4. Windows were steamed up so you couldn't see anything. I even wrote Clean Me on one of them to no avail. This is the easiest thing for them to fix and they couldn't be bothered.
5. Lack of seating - and I mean a total and utter lack of seating, unless you're VIP - weird.
6. Music - The DJ who was probably being paid handsomely didn't have some really standard tracks and moreover ended up playing a few tracks twice, did he forget his record box?! Also he was just in a corner with a trestle table - surely a supposedly sw**ky venue should have a booth.
7. You weren't allowed to dance anywhere in the venue with a drink in your hand. I had quite a lot of fun actually tapping my feet whilst holding a drink, then suddenly fully dancing, at which point the neanderthal bouncers made their way over to me to tell me to stop or put down my drink, then just as they were 4 yards from me I went back to just tapping my feet and they retreated - this went on for a while and amused me!

8. Ticket price, overall I'm regretting the outlay and I just can't believe that Illuminate promoters couldn't just use their brain and make a few changes/token gestures (eg Clean the Effing windows) which would have had me on their side for doing their best with a poor venue rather than me roundly condemning them as wideboys who made a fortune out of approx 500 mugs - of which I was one. The only upside was that I didn't shell out £2000 for a VIP table - now that would have hurt!

Altitude 360 New Year

Overall rating: 1

360?! Definitely NOT!! That would mean that you would have a view all around the block but it wasn't the case. Most of the best seen was occupied by the VIP section who made us feel WHY WE WHERE THERE? And like Sienna rightly said I felt like singing all the way the Tina Turner Hit "Steaming Windows". Indeed a very strange event! Looked like it was improvised in one of this empty bland apartment where the acoustic sound came from Homebase and a desperate DJ was throwing out any music that he could possible find under a trestle table. Horrible Lighting!!!...They just tried to get away with a mirror ball and some spot light. No entertainment at all!!
The Event was split in 2 floors. The second floor was for the Buffet..quite decent apart from the porridge-risotto like and the overcooked penne pasta. When I order a drink from there they told me to go on the 29 floor because they did not have glasses there. Drinks are over priced and there where not enough table with chairs to seat (only in the VIP room). For the money spent they could have treat us and the rest of the people like VIP. The only fire works we saw where the one on a tv screen and they where put on by repetitive random...just in case we forgot how they looked like. Putting in more effort instead of reaping people off would not have been a bad thing...after all it is the NEW YEAR EVENT and the people are paying for it! We actually start to enjoy ourselves ones we got out from there (at 12.15)
Very big disappointment....the 7 of us and hope not to repeat the experience!
