The Hieronymus Quartet at Fulham Palace on Monday 4th November 2019
The Friends of Fulham Palace are delighted to announce that the Hieronymus Quartet will be returning to Fulham Palace, following their sold-out performance in April 2016. Enjoy the music of this young quartet in the enchanting setting of Fulham Palace.
The recital will feature:
Mozart Quartet No.16 in E flat major
Britten 3 Divertimenti
Wolf Italian Serenade
Shostakovich No.14 in F sharp minor
Based in Berlin and London but hailing from the USA, Canada, France, Denmark and the UK, the members of the prize-winning Hieronymus Quartet draw on their contrasting musical backgrounds and their wealth of experience with various other ensembles to shape their own unique voice.
With support from ChamberStudio, the Hieronymus Quartet received a masterclass from Alfred Brendel at Kings Place last year. They have also been awarded a residency at Aldeburgh Music and have received masterclasses from David Waterman and Ferenc Rados at IMS Prussia Cove. They have performed throughout the UK including at the Holywell Music Room in Oxford and King’s Place in London, as well as in Germany, Denmark and Majorca.
The Strad Magazine wrote, “The Hieronymus Quartet produced a thrilling account; incisive in detail and, when required, light in touch. As a group the players scaled huge shifts of dynamic and colour, and the three lower instruments formed a smooth, honeyed accompanying trio when called for.”
The quartet consists of
Emily Nebel – violin 1
Matia Gotman – violin 2
Jenny Lewisohn – viola
Vladimir Waltham – cello
