The Biggest Weekend Fringe Festival on Saturday 26th May 2018
Saturday 26th May sees the Biggest Weekend Fringe Festival arrive in Llandrindod Wells. Featuring musicians and bands from the local area and three top bands representing BBC introducing regions – Hereford & Worcester, Shropshire and North West.
OJ Lewis – is a singer-songwriter from Llandrindod Wells. Better known for being the frontman of the very popular covers band – The Hurricanes, OJ will be playing some of his favourite tracks for you to hear.
FINN – are a 2/3 piece indie alt-rock band from Mid Wales, playing their mix of riff heavy rock songs and melodies. Certainly a local band to keep an eye on in the next 12 months.
The Fireside Family – Surprisingly, they really are a family! Amanda is Mum to co-lead singer Lorien and lead guitarist Sky, and together they form a unique and independent Acoustic Folk/Rock Band with a passion for music. Hailing originally from Herts and Essex UK, they have since migrated to the wilds of Mid-Wales. The folk roots run deep through this two-generation band, which is apparent in their style of writing and musical content, and with four previous generations of professional musicians (that can be traced so far) they couldn't really do anything else!
Falling Free – representing BBC introducing North West. Fallingfree are a group of like minded, passionate and aspirational Individuals, who just absolutely love playing music.Period.
With catchy vocal lines, bouncy melodies and unstoppable punk drumming we are a wave of punk/pop music that is truly undefinable!
Music inspired by all kinds of pop/punk/rock (and everything in-between) from the 70s- present, with our own musical twist on it all.
Come together to collectively write and tell our musical stories then play our hearts our wherever we end up!

Paul Henshaw & The Scientific Simpletons – representing BBC Introducing Shropshire. Paul Henshaw is a RIOT FOLK singer songwriter living on the North Wales coast who pretty much spends his life thumping lumps out of his guitar and singing about life, hangovers and anything else he's passionate about
Paul and his band (THE SCIENTIFIC SIMPLETONS) have shared festival stages with the likes of THE LEVELLERS, THE FEELING, UB40, FUN LOVIN' CRIMINALS HUEY MORGAN, FEROCIOUS DOG, THE ORB, NICK PARKER and NEWTON FAULKNER.
FISHING FOR OWLS was released on May 5th 2017 and reached NUMBER 1 in The Amazon Album download charts and the singles 'STONES' and 'FAY'S SONG' Reached #1 and #3 respectively.
May 2018 will see the release of the bands first LIVE album, titled 'COMPLETUM EST' recorded late in 2017 in the bands home town.
Last Tree Squad – representing BBC Introducing Hereford & Worcester, LAST TREE SQUAD are a 7-peice original outfit, blending and creating sounds relating to Hip Hop, Reggae, Dub, Dancehall and Jungle. Finishing off the evening with some supercharged vibes. Meaningful songs, politically relatable – Last Tree Squad will get you up on your feet.
The festival takes place at Pavilion Mid Wales, Llandrindod Wells, with doors opening at 5:00pm. The event is an all ages show, Under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
