Magdalena Mannion, Flamenco Trio (Liverpool)

Magdalena Mannion’s ‘Flamenco Trio’ brings dance, piano and voice travelling together through a vibrant and elegant repertoire of traditional flamenco with a contemporary twist.

For this show, Magdalena brings national award-winning flamenco pianist Alfonso Aroca, who is a great musician and composer from Cordoba and compliments her style beautifully. They are accompanied by the traditional flamenco song that is a key part of flamenco music, with the cantaora (singer) Elena Morales, also from Cordoba. The trio originally performed together in Madrid's tablao Café de Chinitas.

Magdalena is a beautiful dancer of great expression and charm, with a more contemporary approach to flamenco. As well as a solo dancer in her own right, she dances alongside flamenco maestros Manuel Liñan and Alfonso Losa and tours with Rafaela Carrasco’s company, presenting prize winning shows at international flamenco festivals. Magdalena was also the solo flamenco dancer in the 2021 tour of Riverdance, delighting audiences with her Firedance. See video below.
