Some dreams never end…
Following sell out shows from Liverpool guitar heroes The Real People and Godfathers of rap The Furious 5 & the Sugarhill Gang, Signature Live Events are honoured to welcome music legend Peter Hook and his band The Light to the Shankly Hotel rooftop on 17 October.
A founder member of two of the most influential bands in music history, ‘Hooky’’s unmistakably ominous, melodic high basslines redefined punk, were integral to the pioneering sound of Joy Division & New Order and made their mark on the then emerging new world of dance music.
Having toured his two previous bands’ classic albums to euphoric audiences worldwide for the last nine years, Peter Hook & the Light now perform The Hits of Joy Division & New Order in a glorious celebratory return to the North of England.
Capacity is limited - a lucky few will experience the best of one of British music’s finest ever catalogues performed live by this iconic artist, with Liverpool’s magnificent skyline as a backdrop.
See you on the roof.
Peter Hook And The Light – live reviews
‘Stirring, emotive and exceptionally impressive....Hooky and the band reinvigorated the old material with real passion.’ Word Magazine
‘5 Stars – A fitting tribute to one of the greatest bands Britain has ever produced. Hooky pulled it off and then some.’ Sunday Mail
‘While pages and pages of text has been written about how influential Peter Hook’s bass sound is, and how much it defined Joy Division and New Order, he’s also a very compelling front man. Now, 30 years later, the songs really come to life with a punchier musical delivery than they ever had on record, and an uber-confident Hook belting them out.’ Artrocker
‘Best decision I made all year? Quite possibly.... My god, man. Go see this band.... Well played, Mr. Hook. Well played.’ The Pale Drummer
‘The passion and above all the quality of his shows. In this era of manufactured pop trash we need genuine legends of the calibre of Peter Hook, long may he continue.’ QRO Magazine
“Taking in the show, I could imagine that this is what it might have felt like hearing the original New Order playing that material back in the day. More organic and authentic to the time. I really, really enjoyed this show immensely.’Rock Subculture
‘A triumphant return for the band, the main floor was packed shoulder to shoulder with a diverse crowd of emphatic fans. On the second level an outdoor balcony, overlooked a bustling Hollywood Boulevard below. On the third balcony level every seat was taken, with a crowd dancing about in the back. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the marathon music lesson that the band was offering up on the roots of what has become modern dance music.’ 5 Stars Examiner
