Lowlands venue information
Lowlands - built by Liverpool architect Thomas Haigh in 1849 – was a private home for many decades, later occupied by the Inland Revenue after wartime bombing damaged the India Buildings. Since 1957, the house has been managed by the West Derby Community Association. In the late '50s and early '60s it was an important part of the music scene, hosting the Pillar Club where the early Beatles and other soon-to-be-famous groups played. A teenage George Harrison was a frequent visitor.
