Horace Andy w/ Mafia & Fluxy ft. Matic Horns on Friday 1st September 2017

On Friday 1st September, we welcome ‘the sweetest voice in Jamaica’ to the greatest city on earth.
The legendary singer, songwriter and long-term collaborator of Massive Attack, Horace Andy, will be performing a special show at District, with support from the mighty, Mafia & Fluxy ft Matic Horns.
Arguably one of the most influential and respected artists to come out of Jamaica, Horace Andy learnt his trade alongside some of reggae's finest producers, including Coxsone Dodd, Scientist and Sly & Robbie.
Having graced clash-winning dubplates as well as full-length recordings for both Studio One and Trojan and other reggae imprints across the board, the man they call ‘Sleepy’ had his big breakthrough in the 1970s working with Bunny Lee.
In the early 90s his impeccable delivery and flawless intonation became essential ingredients in Massive Attack’s seminal 'Blue Lines' album in which several tracks sampled Horace Andy originals or brand new recordings of his voice, words and melodies, creating a blueprint for the bass-heavy revolution that was the Bristol sound.
