Alastair Clark, Rat Kings & Liam Hale on Saturday 21st September 2019
81 Renshaw is proud to present an evening of tip top alternative comedy with shows from three of Liverpool's oddest purveyors of mirth.
ALASTAIR CLARK: DEAR JOANANETTE // 7.00PM
Daft nihilist Alastair Clark is bringing his new standup show 'Dear Joananette' to 81 as part of his lifelong quest of exploring doubt and self-sabotage.
Alastair felt increasingly disillusioned with life... until he found some postcards in a Parisian skip, addressed to a mysterious, potentially dead, French woman. 'Dear Joananette' is a standup comedy show about legacy and what we leave behind.
'Massively funny' ★★★★★ (TheSphinx.co.uk).
'Exceeded all expectations' ★★★★ (TheTab.com).
'Intelligent and ambitious' ★★★★ (LiverpoolSoundandVision.co.uk)
RAT KINGS: APOCALYPSE // 8.15PM
Calling fellow survivors: Due to the recent apocalypse Rat Kings are the only comedians left. Come and see the only comedy act that was deemed ‘bunker worthy’ during humanity's last desperate scramble before nuclear annihilation! Liam Hale and Sean Stoakes promise to take your minds off marauders, dwindling resources and the ever expanding sun with an hour of sketch comedy. Uncontaminated water provided. Some wheat seeds to be won. No crab creatures.
★★★★ (The Skinny)
'The spark in new comedy that you always wish to find' ★★★★ (Liverpool Sound and Vision)
'Utterly Bizarre and Hilarious' (Ed Fringe Review)
LIAM HALE: PIGS // 9.30PM
An hour of nonsense.
'Perfectly pitched character comedy' ★★★★ (The Skinny)
'It's random, funny, idiotic, simply wonderful and had the whole audience crying with laughter.' (Now Then Magazine)
'A deadpan style of delivery, mastered to perfection.' (North West End)
£5 FOR ONE SHOW // £8 FOR TWO SHOWS // £10 FOR THREE SHOWS
