Jazzpac - 'Quintet Blue'

Alex Webb's 'Quintet Blue' on Saturday 10th June 2023

Pianist Alex Webb leads this group with a front-line of two of the UK's greatest jazz improvisers: Denys Baptiste and Nigel Price, celebrating the bluesy, swinging jazz of the 1950s and 60s with a repertoire of pieces from Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, Ahmad Jamal and more recent works from Charlie Haden.

Time Magazine described Denys Baptiste as an 'icon of British jazz'.  He has played and recorded with McCoy Tyner, Andrew Hill, Billy Higgins.  Nigel Price is probably the most gifted guitarist on the British jazz scene today.  Alex Webb is a prolific songwriter, arranger, pianist and charming band leader.
