The British Collective are a group of renowned singers who are putting soul back into British R&B. With contributions from Omar, Don-E, Junior & Noel Mckoy, this is a unique musical experience. 2Funky Music Café will host these great vocalists live on stage, on Friday 9 November 2018.

Don-E

Don-E signed to Island Records at the tender age of 19. His nineties single “Love Makes The World Go Round” was an international hit. He has since recorded with a variety of artists, including Ronny Jordan, Kele Le Roc and members of The Sugarbabes, and toured with Grace Jones as part of her band.

Omar

Omar is best known for his nineties debut single “There’s nothing like this.” He went on to collaborate with Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Rodney P and Estelle. Omar is a previous winner of Best Neo Soul Act and Outstanding Achievement Awards, from the Urban Music Awards. He was recently one of the “Artists for Grenfell” performing as part of the “Bridge Over Troubled Water” charity release.

Junior

One of the first British R&B stars to break America, Junior rose to prominence in the early eighties with hits such as “Mama Used to Say” and “Too Late.. Junior was the first Black British artist to feature on US series Soul Train. He has sung with the likes of Kim Wilde, written for Maxi Priest and Sheena Easton, and toured with Michael Jackson in his long and successful history as an artist.

Noel McKoy

Noel was the frontman of the James Taylor Quartet early in the nineties and has sung with Mica Paris, Juliet Roberts, Ebony Alleyne and Beverly Knight to name a few. He has released three albums and worked with record producer Ian Levine.
