Nika Ticciati's Cataclysm Ensemble is a spiritual jazz-punk band that seeks to blend the noble punk tradition with the not so noble free jazz tradition. Conceived as an outlet for pure, immediate music that drew equally on the two extremes of Nika's musical make-up, without giving favour to one over the other, guided always by a drive for truthfulness. Formed in Leeds, now operating as a quintet consisting of Harvey Parkin-Christie on saxophones, Sam Ehrett-Pickett on trumpet and horns, Sol Christopher on electric guitar, Teruki Chan on drumkit and Nika Ticciati on Bass guitar.
Nautilus are a five-piece jazz fusion band formed in 2023 at Leeds conservatoire. Soup have been playing together for the past three years, with revolving lineups and experimenting with different instrumentations. The core sound takes inspiration from jazz, krautrock and electronic music with space for extensive collective improvisation. In their current lineup they with be performing as a quartet featuring Guitar, Bass, Cello and Saxophone, alongside some electronic manipulations.
