Ceiling Demons & Guests on Wednesday 18th July 2018

jackofthearts Presents: objec_Tour

Ceiling Demons
Purveyors of obscure hip-hop; Ceiling Demons are an alternative group hailing from Northern England, seeking to capture the rawness of human emotion in their music & words. The group first came together to pay tribute to a lost friend, a theme that has permeated the music ever since. Comprising of twin brothers; Psy Ceiling & Dan Demon, they have garnered support from the likes of Tom Robinson & Nemone from BBC Radio 6 Music as well as a variety of regional presenters from the BBC Introducing programme. Having supported the likes of Young Fathers, Sleaford Mods and Busdriver as well as festival appearances at Tramlines, Doune The Rabbit Hole and Evolution Emerging, the Demons released the experimental ‘Belly of the Hopeless’ in May 2016 via Frux Tapes. Embodying the spirit of punk and the heart of trip-hop, the EP attracted attention from the likes of Earmilk and Louder Than War, with the latter rating it 9/10. 2016 also saw the Demons make their vinyl debut with a split 7' release of their single 'Lost the Way'. on the Leeds based singles club Come Play With Me.

As an intense chemical reaction of face-melting riffs, spacious vocals and groove-based rhythms Psyence have been locked away up north to slowly mature into a swaggering composition of blues rock and psychedelia. Effortlessly harking back to the ‘60s psychedelic rock wellspring and to an entirely original adolescent search for something beyond the tame ‘sponsored-alternative’ current music scene.
