Review of Mint Festival 2019
I was the guy in the green “I love house music” t shirt.
It’s recommended to get a bottle of wine and stick it in the back of your jeans pocket and swig it through the day, and dance and drink hands-free. White wine bottles are 13% and £22, up £2 from last year.
I’m sure only half the full capacity of people turned up, about half as many people as last year - maybe as it was so late in the year - although the weather was actually sunny, which was better than last years sell-out event - also my favourite DJ Derrick Carter wasn’t there - I only wanted to go to this festival coz of him - also Moodymann was missing along with the Woodstock arena - or I couldn’t find it...
I thought the Elrow arena would be like cheesy EDM but they played a lot of tech house which was good - shame they thought it a good idea to play Sophie Ellis Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor and Whitney Huston - I’m Every Woman FFS!! Luckily they got the commercial vocal house warmup DJ out of the way and started playing harder underground tunes later into the day
The Terminal arena wasn’t as bad as I thought as they didn’t play that much bassline house. There seemed to be more chavs than usual but they weren’t nasty ones
Area 51 (the hangar) was too quiet at the start and there was hardly anyone in it for the first few hours, but Seth Troxler sorted all that out at the end and rocked it, but to a crowd about a fifth of the size of last years...

Message to promoter - If you book this one in again, please make it early September rather than late September as people expect it it be too cold and rainy this close to winter - and please book Derrick Carter for 2020 or I won’t go!

Review of Mint Festival 2019
The staff in our experience were rude, gave us wrong wristbands which resulted in us not being able to get into the vip area and security trying to charge us both £10 extra, even though he was letting other people in with ordinary wristbands! The location meant taxis and travel was a nightmare. The venue was good enough, missed some the Djs since we didn’t realise what arena was which.
