The 80s is back!
Experience some of the most iconic songs of the 80s reworked into breath-taking orchestral versions and performed live by the original artists, as 80s Classical returns for a second year to its spiritual home at Millennium Square.
Featuring Jimmy Somerville, Nik Kershaw, Go West, Carol Decker (T’Pau) and John Parr together with Opera North’s 60 piece orchestra, this is hit after hit of pure 80s gold!*
Hits include ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’, ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’, ‘Wouldn’t it be Good’, I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’, ‘King of Wishful Thinking’, ‘We Close Our Eyes’, ‘China In Your Hand’, ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ and many more.
More 80s classics performed by the ensemble and backing vocalists include Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’, Toto’s ‘Africa’, The Jacksons’ ‘Can You Feel it’, and many more.
Plus, Liverpool event DJ’s Sonic Yootha will also be returning for a second year to help get the party started in the lead up to the main performances and keep the crowd entertained during the interval.
